The Redmi Note 10 Pro Review

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Review

an introduction

108MP camera on Redmi Note? How about a 120 Hz AMOLED screen? Sure, why not, said Xiaomi, and thus the Redmi Note 10 Pro was born. This is an obvious simplification (and there’s a “catch my Bertie” joke out there somewhere that we don’t dare make), but we’d be remiss not to mention this phone’s two major distinguishing features right from the start.

Other than that, it’s a bundle of small improvements over its direct predecessor, the Redmi Note 9 Pro, all of which are welcome, of course, but the camera bump (certainly intended) serves two purposes. First, people like big numbers on spec sheets, and that number, at least for now, is about as big as it gets. Second, perhaps the sheer fact that such a large main sensor is placed in this device is meant to indicate that Redmi is finally taking camera image quality more seriously than before. This is a welcome development in our book.

There are other mid-rangers with 108MP cameras, and in fact, the first phone ever to have such a sensor (though not the same ) was the Mi Note 10, which is also a mid-range. So it’s not an anecdote of “this is the first mid-ranger to have such a camera”, or “108MP cameras making their way into the mid-range”, but the focus should be on how much more of the mainstream Redmi Note line compares to anything else. .

Over the past few years, it’s been the primary driver of sales for Redmi (and Xiaomi in general), so whenever there’s a big change here, it counts because it means that any such new feature will be used by a lot of people. This is also the case for the 120Hz AMOLED display, which was once a staple in a high-end world, and now it’s finally reaching more affordable devices like this one.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro appears, on paper at least, to be a worthy successor to the Redmi Note 9 Pro we reviewed in the long run last year, and we were eager to see how your experience with using it would differ. If you’re also curious, go ahead and join us on the next few pages as we explore what it’s been like to live with this device day in and day out for an extended period of time.
